Someday when they're sober,

But whiskey and water,
And cheers after cheers,
Don't leave too much fodder
For nothing but tears.

Long nights on the highway,
Perched behind the wheel,
He thinks of that roadhouse,
And how she might feel.
If that barroom rages,
On Saturday night,
She'll be making good wages,
And dying inside.

Such love from a distance,
Keeps taking it's toll.
A flood of emotion,
