The retelling of "The Ballad of Omi Wise", an old timey folk song. The story is told from the perspective of the murderer on his death bed.

Not known in my lifetime,
for shame or remorsing,
This dark tale unto you I must impart.

I came here a runnin'
And that's how I'll stay.
Unless I tell you how.
Naomi, fair Naomi,
Wound up in the ground.

The orphan Naomi,
Both supple and tender,
though field work had toughened her hands and feet,

Loved dining and dancing,
And most earthly pleasures.
We'd roll on the floor and between the sheets.

But one summer day,
Mother stopped me to say,
"It's Martha you will wed"
Naomi, poor Naomi,
Better off dead.

I tricked poor Naomi,
She climbed on my horse,
But she stayed in Deep River long after I crossed.

I went to court Martha,
The sherrif came there.
I saw the cold body and just stroked its hair.

The mood of the town,
Was to lynch me it seemed,
So I resolved to run.
Naomi, cold Naomi,
What have I done?
